Marty and Tilly's Birthday - A Local Affair

A new birthday tradition has started at the Schiewe Urban Homestead. Now we celebrate them all week long! This year we succeeded in keeping everything within our community! We kicked off the festivities meeting up with some of our best buds at the local alley - Paramount Lanes, an old school bowling alley if there ever was one. It's the kind of bowling alley that has charm of yesteryear including orange mountain scenes above the lanes, classic above-the-lane ball returns (that will smash your fingers if you're not paying close enough attention), and Bud Light from the tap, there are no micro brews here!  After bowling we grabbed some pizza from Johnny's Pizza, another local joint, and moved the party to our house. Following pizza, presents and play the party wrapped up with one monster of a cupcake dragon picked up from our local grocer. On Sunday, Granny Annie came over and we celebrated some more. This time with homemade cake and dinner off the grill, bacon-wrapped filets from our local meat market. YUM!  All of this was made possible without ever leaving our suburban city limits! Put your hands in the air!
