Spring Break on Schiewe's Urban Homestead

Spring Break 2011 is winding down on Schiewe's Urban Homestead. Spending a vacation at home reminds me why I love this place. It has been a week of banishing the alarm clock, saying goodbye to one of our favorite ski mountains for the season, dividing and rearranging a garden, and enjoying the blue sky and sunshine that started my love affair with Colorado 17 years ago. Not to mention spring cleaning the kitchen and bringing new life to my sewing room!   As the transition from Winter to Spring continues our attitudes are transitioning as well. The new season brings a new level of excitement to the homestead. The garden is waking up and with it, the daydreams are intensifying!   I am officially half way through this semester and the kids are a mere 10 weeks away from summer vacation. Yes, the countdown has begun!! Oddly enough, with these 'carrots' dangling in front of us, returning to the daily grind feels a little less daunting.

Our blog will be transitioning as well! Stay tuned as we begin documenting our 'season' in the garden!
